Cannes 2016: Katrina Kaif to skip festival, Aishwarya Rai-Sonam Kapoor gear up to walk the red carpet

One of the biggest international film and fashion galas is about to commence. And B-Town is gearing up to make fabulous red-carpet appearances at the prestigious 2016 Cannes International Film Festival. Last year, actress Katrina Kaif debuted at the coveted red carpet but chances are slim that she will do the same this year. 

According to the initial reports, actresses Aishwarya Rai Bachchan and Sonam Kapoor will continue to represent a popular cosmetic brand at Cannes. Even though Katrina is also the brand ambassador of the brand, she won't be accompanying the other two Bollywood actors at the red carpet. 

One of the reasons may be the delay in the shoot of Katrina's upcoming film, Jagga Jasoos, with Ranbir Kapoor. 

Katrina walked the red carpet twice at the festival last year. For her debut appearance, she chose an all-black ensemble, while it was a red-on-red outfit on the next outing.  

Interestingly, Sonam completed five years of walking the red carpet at the film festival for the cosmetic giant last year.

However, it is still not confirmed when Aishwarya and Sonam will walk the red carpet. The 2016 Cannes International Film Festival is scheduled to take place from 11 May to 22 May.

Reportedly, Aishwarya's next Sarbjit will also be showcased at Cannes.
