Director John Mathew Matthan has revealed that the sequel to Aamir Khan's acclaimed Sarfarosh will go on floors next year.
According to reports, it was Aamir who felt that it was time to make a sequel to his 1999 thriller. In 2013, the star had suggested that John start work on the script for the second installment. The director told PTI:
In Sarfarosh, Aamir played the role of a tough Mumbai Crime Branch cop Ajay Singh Rathod, who cracks down on cross-border terrorism along with his team. The film saw veteran actor Naseeruddin Shah playing the antagonist. However, John revealed that the sequel would follow a different story."The sequel to Sarfarosh will take some time. I am not ready with a proper script as of yet. It will happen next year. Presently, I am busy with two-three other scripts".
Aamir is currently busy shooting for his film, Dangal."The sequel will have a different story. We are yet to zero-in on an area around which the plot would revolve. Once I am ready with the script I will talk to Aamir about it."
