Uttar Pradesh: woman hacked to death for inability to bear children

In a gruesome incident, a 40-year-old woman in Taneda village of Muzzaffarnagar was allegedly hacked to death by her husband for her inability to bear a child.

The deceased woman has been identified as Saroj. She was allegedly murdered by her husband Vinod Kumar with the help of his brother at Taneda village under Bhopa police station area on Thursday, the police said.

According to the police, the victim's brother Narendra, in his complaint to the police, alleged that his sister was killed due to her inability to bear a child.

After the complaint was lodged, the police managed to arrest the husband. However, his brother is still absconding. The police have launched a manhunt to nab him.

The body has been sent for post-mortem and the matter is being investigated thoroughly, said the police. The couple had been married for the past 20 years.
