As a path-breaking initiative towards communal harmony, 79 Madrassas of Mandsaur district in Madhya Pradesh are teaching Hindu rituals like the Gayatri Mantra, Mukhdant Vidhi, Snan Mantra and Solah Sanskaar to the students enrolled there.

In the Kabir Vidyapeeth Madrassa situated in the Janakpura area, all the students belong to the Hindu community. Plus, six Madrassas in the city follow a tradition whereby all students recite the Gayatri Mantra after singing the National Anthem.

Religious education is mandatory for all students from the 1st to the 8th standard, keeping respective religions in mind.

Urdu and Sanskrit are also taught from the beginning.According to an exclusive report by Patrika, this custom of religious education has been going on since 1997.
