Rajasthan Election 2018 Live Updates: Polling for 199 constituencies begins; Congress counting on anti- incumbency to beat BJP

Chief Minister Vasundhara Raje-led Rajasthan is all set for the assembly elections. The polling for 199 constituencies begins in the saffron party-led Rajasthan. As Congress is counting on anti-incumbency to win in Rajasthan, it is a big challenge for the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) to retain its power as the northern state has always voted out the incumbent government for more than two decades.

The polling in the will end by 5 pm, wherein voters will decide the fate of 2,274 candidates who are in the fray for 199 out of the 200 assembly constituencies of Rajasthan.

Rajasthan Assembly election 2018 is a Do or Die battleground for Chief Minister Vasundhara Raje. As compare other assembly polls in other states, Rajasthan polls are said to be a straight fight between the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and the Congress for about 130 seats. In the current House, the BJP has 160 seats and the Congress 25.

15:30 (IST): Voter turnout recorded till 3 PM is 59.43%

15:02 (IST): Vehicles were set ablaze & vandalised in a clash which broke out between 2 groups at polling booth at Subhash school in Sikar's Fatehpur today. Voting remained affected for 30 minutes. Miscreants were later removed from spot by police & voting resumed. 

12: 15 (IST): 97-year-old Nagender Singh Chouhan and his 85-year-old wife Yuvraj Kuwar cast their votes at a polling station in Jhalawar.

11: 30 (IST): Shajha, a 105-year-old woman casts her vote at a polling booth in Kishanpura, Jaipur. The family says,"There is no facility of a wheelchair in this polling booth. We had to carry her inside the polling station so that she could vote."

10:38 (IST): Voters create ruckus at polling booth no. 253 and 254 in Ahor constituency of Jalore as voting has been halted following EVM malfunction

10:26 (IST): Rajasthan CM Vasundhara Raje on Friday slammed senior politician Sharad Yadav for body-shaming her. Raje said that Yadav did not only hurt her but also insulted all women.
