IRCTC new update: Check out these amazing services for Indian Railways reserved passengers

Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation (IRCTC) has been always trying to bring some amazing ideas to woo the passengers and also to make their journey more convenient by providing secure and safe traveling.

Now, the Indian Railways has come up with a new scheme for the passengers by allowing them to reserve seats, compartments, berth, and carriages as per the new rules available in the coaching tariff, online as well as offline or from the counters.

With this new reservation facility, passengers will get the confirmed accommodations during their train journey. Because of unconfirmed reservation, passengers have to face a lot of problems. To rectify this problem, Indian Railways have come up with some new ideas that would help in improving the reservation system.

Check out some new ideas adopted by Indian Railways for passengers:

1. Reservation chart on the website:

With this new facility, passengers would be able to know the details about the vacant berths available on the train after the preparation of the reservation chart.

Also, the first chart about vacant berth will be available on the website around four hours before the train departure while the second chart will be uploaded around 30 minutes before the train departure from the originating station. This new feature is available on both the IRCTC website and on a mobile app.

2. Confirmed ticket status:
To give more relief to Railways passengers, IRCTC has introduced a new feature that will help candidates to know the details about the probability of confirmation of his/her RAC tickets. Besides, Indian Railways has recently introduced Vikalp scheme for waitlisted passengers. Through this scheme, a confirmed berth will be given to the waitlisted passenger in an alternate train on the same route.

3. Train Running Status:

A new facility starts by Railways i.e. Hand-Held Terminals (HHTs) to TTEs. With this service, passengers could able to get the update about the real-time occupance status of the running train.
