The festival of colours and sweets has arrived as the citizens are ready to celebrate Holi with fun, love and laughter. Holi is celebrated with full fervour and enthusiasm across the country wherein the colours play a vital in redefining it.

It’s the colours which also play a spoil sport for the people while celebrating Holi as they contain chemicals which are usually dangerous for skin. These artificial colours are made from non-food grade dyes, such as meta, plastic, leather and paper. And to add on, these colours can break the top layer of the skin and bruise it which may affect in the long run.

Further, the chemicals used in the synthetic colours are not only hazardous to our skin bt even the environment gets degraded as it uses melachite, rhodamina, auramine among others. Now, these chemicals help in manufacturing the most used colours like green, violet, orange and yellow, which eventually causes irritation, respiratory issues and might lead to an asthmatic situation as well.

  • Why we must go the Organic way this Holi

The organic colours are easily available due to their rising demands in the past and are eco-friendly in nature. These are made from natural colours and are hence skin friendly.

Also, being photo sensitive, the organic colours become active when coming in contact with sunlight and it helps in removing the micro organisms which could be harmful for our skin.

These organic colours can even be made at home. It’s quite simple in a way that Palash and Hibiscus flowers are major source for colours. The process is to boil these flowers in water and filter the remaining part after the boiling concoction and the colours would be ready to use.

So, this Holi get rid of the artificial colours and celebrate an organic Holi which will lead to less toxic waste and more safety for your skin and hair.
