GATE Exam 2022: Online registration to begin in August; official schedule released

GATE 2022: Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE) 2022 released the official schedule for the GATE entrance exam 2022 on its official website. Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Kharagpur will conduct the IIT GATE 2022 Exam.

"The two new papers will provide direct benefits to our graduates in these two areas, especially when the country needs human resources with advanced capabilities in shipbuilding industries and geo-informatics," Director of IIT-Kharagpur VK Tewari told PTI.

The online application form will be started on August 30, 2021, and the last date for the online registration is September 24, 2022. IIT Kharagpur has launched the GATE 2022 website- gate.iitkgp.ac.in.

Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE) 2022 entrance exam will be held on February 5, 6, 12, and 13, 2022.

The two new papers- Geomatics Engineering (GE) and Naval Architecture and Marine Engineering (NM) have been added to the GATE exam this year.

"The two new papers will provide direct benefits to our graduates in these two areas, especially when the country needs human resources with advanced capabilities in shipbuilding industries and geo-informatics," Director of IIT-Kharagpur VK Tewari told PTI.

"Further, the GATE is fast acquiring a brand value and foreign universities are also utilising the scores for their admission," Prof Tewari added.

GATE 2022 admit card will be released on January 3. While the GATE exam 2022 will be released on March 17. However, the dates are tentative and the exam may be postponed due to the COVID-19 situation, IIT Kharagpur said.

Candidates who will qualify GATE exam will be eligible to get admission to master's programmes and also eligible for recruitment to some public sector companies.

GATE is conducted jointly by the Indian Institute of Science (IISc) Banglore and seven Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs) at Kharagpur, Mumbai, Chennai, Delhi, Guwahati, Kanpur, and Roorkee.
