Sanju Samson expresses his disappointment in unique way as selection woe continues

Indian cricketer Sanju Samson has every reason to be exasperated. The young wicket keeper batsman has been the victim of some completely baffling decisions by the Indian selectors in recent times.

After MS Dhoni distanced himself from the game following India’s exit from the World Cup in July, the men in blue have handed the wicketkeeping gloves to Rishabh Pant. However, Pant has been far from impressive and his glove work adds more to his dismal performance.

Sanju Samson, regarded as one of the brightest talents in the country, was dropped from the series against West Indies. He made a comeback to the squad for the three match T20I series against Sri Lanka and played the last match, his first in five years.

All-inclusive, Samson has featured in only 2 T20Is despite making his debut in 2015. Rishabh Pant on the other hand has played 11 Tests, 16 ODIs and 28 T20Is since his debut in 2017.

Indian cricketers have recoursed to selection woe with cryptic tweets in recent times. In 2019, Ambati Rayudu responded to his sacking with a 3D glasses tweet and now Sanju Samson has opted to show his distress with a comma!

Rather incomprehensibly, Sanju Samson was once again left out from the five match T20I series against New Zealand. And when Pant is ruled out of the Rajkot ODI with a concussion, what do the selectors do? They brought in KS Bharat, a 26-year-old wicketkeeper from Andhra Pradesh.

Previously, Harbhajan Singh has been perplexed by the way the selectors have treated Sanju Samson. After Congress leader Shashi Tharoor tweeted to express his disappointment over Samson's exclusion from the West Indies T20Is and ODIs, Harbhajan Singh responded by tweeting that the selectors were testing his heart and urged BCCI president Sourav Ganguly to bring in stronger people in the selection committee.
