After much agitation, the Sanjay Leela Bhansali directorial film 'Padmaavat' finally released on Thursday, January 25. The film has been in the news since the day it was announced and the makers have put in their best efforts to ensure that nobody gets hurt while watching the film but the Rajput Karni Sena took their protest to a mass level by destroying many theatres, cars, buses and effegies but looking at the box office collection of the film, it does not seem that the film is getting affected by any of these.

The film Padmaavat that starrs Deepika Padukone, Ranveer Singh and Shahid Kapoor in the lead roles managed to earn Rs 19 Crore on the box office on day 1 of its release. The news was given by Taran Adarsh, a popular trade analyst on his Twitter account read as, “Despite non-screening in few states and protests/disturbances, #Padmaavat fares VERY WELL on Day 1... Had it been a peaceful/smooth all-India release, the biz would’ve touched ₹ 28 / ₹ 30 cr... Wed [limited preview screenings] 5 cr, Thu 19 cr. Total: ₹ 24 cr. India biz.”
